Phonics
In Year 1, we follow the ELS Phonics Scheme. Every day, children receive lessons that expand upon the knowledge they acquired in reception. The children will have the opportunity to read books related to the sounds they are learning during practice reading sessions as well as books individualised to their current reading confidence.
