We offer both a KS1 and KS2 football club, run by Mr Boyd. The children take part in a fun warm up before learning key skills which will build on activities from some of their PE lessons. Every session is ended with a match with two Player of the Match awards celebrated afterwards. Football club takes place outside when possible on the playground and field, if it is considered dangerous conditions outside the club can take place in the school hall.
Cooking Club
Cooking Club is run for KS1 children by Mrs Mountjoy. The children learn food hygiene, how to safely handle tools, weigh out ingredients and follow recipes. So far they have made: shortbread, cheesy pasta bake, crumpet pizzas and wraps. The children love cooking club!
Basketball Club
Basketball club is great for keeping active and building teamwork skills. This club is run by Mr Boyd outside on KS2 playground. The children enjoy learning new skills and the competitive aspects at the end of each session. Basketball really improves hand-eye coordination that will benefit the children throughout their early lives.
Dodgeball Club
Dodgeball takes place in the hall on Wednesday after school for KS2 children. Mr Boyd keeps the club moving at a fast pace, to allow for the most games to be played. The children are put into four teams are never sat still for long. Teamwork skills are key and are built on every week. The children highly enjoy the club and it is very popular all year round.
Cornet Club
We were lucky to receive donations from the community to help us to purchase eight Cornets. We have offered pupils in Year 3 the opportunity to take up free tuition and join an afterschool club to learn the key skills of brass playing. Pupils have enjoyed learning and reading a range of songs, whilst developing their embouchure and experiencing making music as part of a group. Wholeclass pBuzz lessons in Year 3 have prepared pupils with the basic skills to be able to play the Cornet. The Cornet Club are looking forward to performing in our Summer concert!
