PCSO Jacqui Fletcher and her colleague came into to help us learn all about the Police.  We were very excited as we were given our own special notebook and hat.

After we had received our hats, we had to say the Police Cadet promise and we learnt the rules . We have to respect the uniform, ourselves and each other.. We noticed that these were similar to our school rules.

Next, we discussed the different ways in which we communicate and we learnt that the phonetic alphabet is used all over the world to help people communicate clearly. We practised spelling out our names using this method.

Finally, we used real police radios to communicate to each other.  We had to read out an instruction to get a vehicle check. It was nerve wracking because we had to use the phonetic alphabet and work the radio at the same time.

"The jacket was really heavy,". J.W.

"I loved using the radio," A.R.

"I can spell my name using the phonetic alphabet," E.W.
